Who the hell was this oboe-playing, weed-smoking, smart-ass math wizard?! Oh, sorry: spoiler alert. In the movie, Jesse Pinkman will turn from second fiddle into main attraction, and will apparently reunite with his friends Skinny Pete and Badger, the streetwise meth funnels he called his friends. The fourth guy who hung out with Jesse, the lip-gauge-sporting Combo, is dead.
Gus Fring is dead. Mike Ehrmantraut is dead. The prison Nazis are dead. Lydia is dead. Hank is dead. Who else could Jesse possibly hang out with? I dunno. His father, Adam, set a hard line and refused to let Jesse back into the family after his repeated drug use. His mother, whose name went unmentioned, had a softer heart, but was eventually persuaded that the best way to help Jesse and protect her family was to cut him off.
Jesse showed up at their house a few times, and at one point, Mrs. Then, in Season 3, the Pinkmans were blackmailed by an anonymous buyer as they tried to sell their house, forcing them to drastically lower the sale price. The buyer? Jesse, who purchased the house, straight cash, with his meth earnings. That emphatic victory provided a clean break for Jesse with his family: It was the last time we heard from the Pinkmans on Breaking Bad.
There could be several reasons the youngest Pinkman never showed up again. However, it does raise a question — by this point, just how old is Jesse? Although Jesse has been through several different forms of hell by the time El Camino starts, he's still quite young, when you look at the broad picture.
Because Walt is turning 52, we also know that the finale is taking place in Jesse's age was first mentioned by Gus's doctor in the episode "Crawl Space," and Jesse's birthdate is established as September 24, , which means that during the events of both "Felina" and El Camino , he should be 25 years old. It's entirely possible that he turned 26 somewhere in the middle of the events of El Camino , but it's not mentioned, if so.
As for why Aaron Paul looks older than that: El Camino was released in , several years after the end of Breaking Bad. He was portrayed by Charles Baker who was 37 to 42 during the show's run. Bob Odenkirk was 47 when he joined the cast of Breaking Bad in season two portraying the "criminal" lawyer, Saul Goodman. With almost cartoon-like consistency, his look - comb-over, pocket square, and all - barely changed during his four years on the show. Following the conclusion of Breaking Bad , Odenkirk reprised the role for the prequel series Better Call Saul , which premiered in His character and appearance barely wavered throughout the series as everyone's favorite criminal with a code.
